Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 18, 2026 · ActionPage Media is a service of Code 3 Software, LLC, a Massachusetts limited liability company.

1. Introduction

Code 3 Software, LLC ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates ActionPage Media, a public-safety radio monitoring service delivered through our mobile application, our website at actionpagemedia.com, and the account and alerting servers behind them (together, the "Service"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

This policy covers the ActionPage Media app and service only. The Code 3 Software corporate website has its own privacy policy.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the Service. The categories are:

Account information

When you create an account (on our website), we collect your email address, a password, and the display name you choose. We never store your password itself — only a bcrypt hash of it, a slow, salted, one-way function that cannot be reversed. If you enable text notifications, we also collect and verify your mobile phone number.

Billing information

If you buy a subscription, payment is handled by a third-party payment processor. We receive confirmation of the purchase, the plan you chose, and the dates of your subscription. We do not receive or store your full card number. If you purchase through the Apple App Store, Apple handles the transaction under its own privacy policy and we receive only a receipt confirming your subscription status.

Alert preferences and app settings

The Service stores the settings you choose so alerts work: the agencies and channels you follow, the dispatch tones, phrases and keywords you want to be alerted on, your alert method (sound, tone, voice, vibrate or silent), and similar preferences.

Usage information

Our servers record how the Service is used: which channels you listen to and when, which calls you play back, which alerts you have set up and when they fire, and similar activity. We use this to run the Service, understand which channels and features people use, plan coverage, diagnose problems, and detect abuse. This information stays on our own servers; we do not use any third-party analytics service.

Device and technical information

When the app connects to our servers we receive technical information needed to deliver the Service and keep it secure: a push-notification token for your device, your device model and operating system version, the app version, your IP address, and server request logs. We use this to deliver push notifications, diagnose problems, and detect abuse.

Communications

If you contact us for support, we keep the messages and any information you include so we can respond and keep a record of the request.

3. Information we do not collect

  • Location. The ActionPage Media app does not request or use your device's location, precise or approximate, in the foreground or background.
  • Microphone. The app does not access your microphone. All audio in the Service is radio traffic received by our own equipment (see Section 7).
  • Contacts, photos, camera, health data, or files. The app does not request access to these.
  • Advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking. The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics, crash-reporting or tracking software, and we do not use your information to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

4. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • create and secure your account and authenticate you;
  • deliver the Service, including live audio, playback, transcripts, and dispatch, phrase and keyword alerts through push notifications;
  • process subscriptions and send receipts, renewal and billing notices, and other account notices by email and, if you opt in, by text message;
  • verify your phone number, send password-reset codes you request, and notify you of maintenance or outages;
  • respond to support requests;
  • monitor the health and security of the Service, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service, including protecting the confidentiality of our receiver sites and the people who host them;
  • send you service updates and, with your consent, news about ActionPage Media features and Code 3 Software products. You can opt out of promotional email at any time using the unsubscribe link in any such message; account and service notices will continue.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal effects, and we do not build advertising profiles.

5. Text messages (SMS)

ActionPage Media sends account-related text messages only (the "ActionPage Media Account Notifications" program). This section, together with the SMS Terms in our Terms of Service, describes that program.

  • Opt-in. You opt in by adding your mobile phone number in Settings → Profile and verifying it with the code we text you. The consent statement is shown on that screen before you add your number. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any product or service.
  • What we send. Verification codes and password-reset codes you request are sent by text while your number is opted in. Service maintenance or outage notices and subscription and billing notices are sent only while the "Text me service and billing notices" setting is on. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages, and dispatch alerts are delivered by push notification, not by text. Message frequency varies.
  • No sharing of mobile information. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent collected for this program are used only to operate it. We do not share, sell, rent or otherwise disclose mobile phone numbers or SMS consent to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Our SMS delivery provider processes numbers only to deliver our messages and may not use them for any other purpose.
  • Opt-out. Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts from us, including verification and password-reset codes. When we receive a STOP we mark your number as opted out and stop sending to it. To stop only service and billing notices, turn off "Text me service and billing notices" in Settings → Profile. Reply HELP for help, or email support@code3software.com.
  • Opting back in. After a STOP, text START to the number that sent the message, then verify your phone number again in Settings → Profile.
  • Charges. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier's plan.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we never lease, rent or trade it to data brokers, advertisers or marketing companies. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. Companies that process information on our behalf and under our instructions to run the Service: hosting and infrastructure providers, our payment processor, our email delivery provider, our SMS delivery provider, and Apple for push notifications and App Store purchases. Each receives only the information needed for its function and may not use it for any other purpose.
  • Legal requirements and safety. We may disclose information, including account details, access logs and IP addresses, if required by law or if we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to comply with a subpoena, court order, warrant or lawful request from a municipal, state or federal authority; to investigate or prevent a violation of our Terms of Service, including any attempt to use the Service to commit a crime, evade law enforcement, or identify, locate or harass a receiver-site host; or to protect the safety, rights or property of the Company, our users, first responders or the public.
  • Business transfers. If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

7. Radio audio and transcripts

The audio, transcripts and call metadata in the Service are recordings of public-safety radio transmissions received by equipment we operate. They are not recordings of you, and they are not user-generated content. Transcripts are produced automatically by speech-to-text software and may contain errors; they are provided for convenience and situational awareness only. Radio content may be added, changed or removed at any time. See the Terms of Service for the rules on using this content.

8. Security and retention

All connections between the app, the website and our servers are encrypted using TLS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Access to production systems is limited to personnel who need it to operate the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information with measures appropriate to its sensitivity.

Our servers are located in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

We retain your account information, settings and usage information for as long as your account exists. Server logs and technical data are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting and then deleted or anonymized.

When you delete your account (see Section 9), it enters a 30-day grace period during which signing in cancels the deletion. At the end of the grace period we delete your account, phone number, settings and usage information. We keep the following for longer:

  • Transaction records (amounts, dates, plan, and an internal account reference) for up to seven years, as required for accounting and tax purposes.
  • Enforcement records for accounts terminated for violating our Terms of Service — enough to identify the account and the reason — so that the ban can be enforced and our receiver sites and hosts protected.
  • Anything else we are required to keep by law or a legal hold.

9. Your choices and rights

  • Access and correction. You can view and update your account details, alert preferences and phone number in your account settings.
  • Account deletion. You can delete your account yourself at any time in your account settings. Deletion takes effect after a 30-day grace period; signing in during that period cancels it. You can also request deletion by emailing support@code3software.com from the email address on your account.
  • Marketing email. Use the unsubscribe link in any promotional email.
  • Text messages. Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts, or turn off "Text me service and billing notices" in Settings → Profile to stop only those.
  • Push notifications. Control these in your device's notification settings for the ActionPage Media app.
  • State privacy rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to ask that we not sell or share it. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below; we will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

10. Children

The Service is intended for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Service or the law. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you by email or an in-app notice before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
